Smelting
Application Areas | Metallurgy
In the metallurgical industry (iron and steel, non-ferrous metal smelting), chains are key components in material handling, process driving, and high-temperature, heavy-duty operations. Due to the complex working conditions in this industry, including high temperatures, high dust levels, high impact, and corrosive gases, extremely high demands are placed on the heat resistance, strength, wear resistance, and reliability of the chains.
Mainly used in:
1. Used for horizontal or inclined conveying of materials such as ore, coke, and coal powder. Forged chains and plate chains are commonly used, requiring wear resistance, high strength, and impact resistance; vertical conveying of ore powder, limestone, etc., to the batching system or top bin of the blast furnace, commonly using plate chains, ring chains, and heat-resistant alloy chains in some high-temperature areas.
2. Used for the bogie chain drive of sintering production lines, withstanding high temperatures and continuous heavy loads, using high-alloy heat-resistant steel plate chains or pin chains; chain conveying devices in the sintering ore cooling section, requiring high-temperature resistance and resistance to thermal fatigue, generally using heat-resistant plate chains and alloy forged chains; chain-type iron-removing machines are used to move molten iron tanks and ladles out of the blast furnace or converter area, commonly using heavy-duty plate chains, some with rollers, requiring extremely high load-bearing capacity.
3. Between the continuous casting crystallizer and the hot rolling mill, conveying steel billets, slabs, or coils. High-strength double-pitch chains or plate chains are generally used; high-temperature heat-resistant steel chains are used in high-temperature heat treatment sections.
Used in steel coil and billet conveying lines, requiring impact resistance and wear resistance, commonly using forged chains, roller chains, hollow pin chains, etc., suitable for installing attachments such as pallets and rollers; used in crane and metallurgical lifting equipment, including hoisting chains and lifting chains, with high strength and fatigue life.
