Chains are widely used in the mining industry, serving as a core component in material conveying, equipment driving, and ore hoisting. Due to the harsh mining environment, typically characterized by heavy loads, high impact, high dust levels, significant wear, moisture, and even corrosive media, extremely high demands are placed on chain strength, wear resistance, reliability, and fatigue resistance.
1. Ore Mining and Primary Transportation: Used in scraper conveyors for underground transportation of coal, iron ore, and metal ores,
forged chains or double-row roller chains are often used, offering impact resistance, wear resistance, and a long lifespan; applications in hydraulic supports, scraper conveyor systems, and transfer machines require chains that can withstand repeated impact loads, necessitating heat-treated, reinforced alloy chains.
2. Used to vertically transport ore, ore powder, etc., from underground to the surface; often using ring chains (circular chains) or plate chains, requiring ultra-high tensile and fatigue resistance; hoisting ring chains are used with hoists or winches to lift raw ore or equipment, suitable for deep shafts or inclined shafts.
3. Plate conveyor chains are used in ore conveying systems before and after crushing, such as heavy-duty chain plate conveyors, requiring high wear resistance and load-bearing capacity, with thick chain plates, often using a hinged chain structure.
4. Stainless steel chains or coated chains are used in equipment containing corrosive media such as flotation machines and thickeners, requiring rust and corrosion resistance, suitable for high humidity and high corrosion environments; sludge scraper chains in phosphate rock, copper ore, and rare metal ore beneficiation processes are used for sediment removal and require acid and alkali resistance.
